Will I be EMDR-certified after completing this class?

The first step is to complete an EMDR Basic Training Course through an EMDRIA-approved provider, such as EMDR Training Group. The required 40 hours of in-person education and 10 hours of consultation are all included in our package pricing.
Once you complete basic training, you can advertise yourself as “EMDR-trained.” To become “EMDR-certified,” additional training is required. This includes 20 hours of EMDR consultation, using EMDR in at least 50 sessions with at least 25 clients, and completing 12 hours of EMDR Continuing Education. An application and fee must also be submitted to EMDRIA for certification.
For more information about the certification process, please visit EMDRIA online.
Will I receive CEUs after completing the course?

This course requires a minimum enrollment of 15 participants. Classes with less than 15 registrants are subject to cancellation or rescheduling at the trainers' discretion. What happens if I am unable to complete all 40 hours of live training for which I registered or cannot attend part two?
Registration for EMDR Basic Training is a commitment to the specific dates listed for Part 1 and 2. If you begin Part 1 or 2 and cannot fully attend the day(s), we cannot issue partial credit. EMDRIA requires the attendance of all 40 hours of live instruction and 10 hours of consultation to complete EMDR Basic Training. EMDR trainers take attendance each day in order to maintain accurate records per EMDRIA requirements. Late arrivals and early outs will result in incomplete training attendance regardless of circumstances.
If you experience a situation in which you’ll need to arrive late or leave early, the entire part of the training that will be missed must be rescheduled. An administrative fee of $250 will be charged for each part that must be rescheduled.
We understand that some participants may have internet or other technology-based difficulties during virtual training. As long as the participant makes a good-faith effort to attend an online session, including contacting Zoom Support, we will be as flexible as possible while still complying with EMDRIA’s requirements.
What can I expect from an EMDR Virtual Basic Training?
EMDR Training Group offers EMDRIA-approved virtual training through Zoom. You will receive the same curriculum, instruction, demonstration, hands-on practice, and constructive feedback. You will also learn how to implement EMDR with clients via telehealth. Those registered for the virtual training must be prepared to meet through Zoom, which requires a reliable internet connection. EMDR Training Group will provide detailed instructions on how to access and use the training platform.

How can EMDR training benefit my practice?
Research on EMDR has been focused on the treatment of trauma; however, it is effective in treating many other issues. EMDR is effective at reducing any irrational negative beliefs one has about oneself, regardless of whether it is tied to a traditional trauma memory. EMDR can be used to treat a variety of conditions, such as depression, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, self-injurious behavior, mood dysregulation, impulsivity, addiction, grief, and many others.
Most therapists who come to us for training have heard of EMDR from a colleague or experienced it as a client. Many are also interested in adding a new skill to their toolkit. Our Basic Training provides tangible skills for treating any level of trauma.
